Prof. IS Kim has received his PhD in Materials Engineering from the Nagoya University, Japan. After he joined at Shinshu University in 2003, and he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2007, Rising Star Professor in 2015. He is one of the distinguished professors for Soochow University, China and adjunct professor of Pohang University of Science and Technology, Korea. Prof. Kim has more than 300 publications in reputed SCI journals, and over 200 international patents filled, and contributed 1 book and more than 25 book chapters.

Comment

Kim lab conducts research in the broad areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology. In particular, his research focuses on design and synthesis of electrospun nanofibers and its nanocomposites for various applications such as biomedical engineering, catalysis, textiles and energy. His group has developed transition metal-based heterogeneous nanocatalysts for organic transformations. At present, he is actively working on the development of 2D and 3D-from of carbons from biomass for energy storage systems. His research is also under the spotlight in the biomedical aspect; briefly, fabrication of inorganic and organic bioactive materials for drug delivery systems and bone regeneration.

Hyung Do Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Polymer Chemistry at Kyoto University.  He received his Ph. D. degree at Kyoto University in 2017.  His thesis focused on development of highly efficient organic-inorganic hybrid solar cells.  He worked as a JSPS postdoctoral fellow in the same university from 2017 to 2018 and appointed as an Assistant Professor in Oct. 2018.  His research interests include studying charge generation and recombination mechanisms in photovoltaic systems.  His current research focuses on charge recombination dynamics in polymer solar cells and perovskite solar cells.

Biography

+ 제목

I received my Ph.D in department of applied chemistry at Tohoku University under the supervision of Prof. Masaya Mitsuishi in 2020. My major research field is polymer material chemistry.  Especially, studies on the preparation and synthesis of organized polymer assemblies aiming at the creation of new functional organic-inorganic hybrid polymers including dynamic covalent bonds applicable to "Nanotechnology" are carried out.

Our groups studies POLYMERS from synthesis to application based on "Nano technology" using bottom-up method for examples Langmuir-Blodgett technique, dip-coating, Layer-by-layer etc. I look forward to communication and joint research with many people through the Korea Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Biograhpy

I received B.S. degree at Ewha Womans University in 2002. I obtained M.S. degree at KAIST under the supervision of Prof. Sukbok Chang in 2005. In 2009, I received my Ph.D in department of chemistry at Kyoto University under the supervision of Prof. Ryo Shintani and Prof. Tamio Hayashi. After JSPS postdoctoral fellowship (2010-2011), I promoted to an assistant professor at Kyoto University. In 2021, I moved to Immunology Frontier Research Center  (iFReC) as an associate professor and continues my academic career at Osaka University.  Besides organic chemistry, my research field has been extended to chemical biology including bioinorganic chemistry , synthetic biology and bioanalytical chemistry.

Biography

ll Jeon read Chemistry for Bachelors and Masters degrees at Oxford University, UK. After graduating in 2008, he worked as the youngest senior researcher at LG Display Co. Ltd., South Korea for 5 years, developing optical films, OLED, and quantum displays. In 2016, he received a PhD degree in Chemistry with honours from the University of Tokyo, Japan. After working as a JSPS postdoctoral fellow, he worked as an assistant professor and lecturer (senior assistant professor) at the same university. He moved to
Pusan National University in South Korea where he got promoted to an associate professor. Later, he
joined Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) and he is now an associate professor at the department of
Nano Engineering. His research group is working on nanocarbon materials, namely, endohedral
fullerene and carbon nanotubes, for optoelectronics towards eco-friendly society and CO
2 reduction
technology. The team are also developing bioelectronics and artificial intelligence integrating materials science.

Yongsoo Jeong received his Ph. D degree (2010) from the Department of Polymer Chemistry at Kyoto University under the supervision of Professor Akagi Kazuo. His research interests focus on the low bandgap Polymers with  chirality and liquid crystallinity by chemical and electrochemical polymerization. After graduation he worked as a senior research engineer at Japan Laboratory of LG Display Co. Ltd., developing display materials and optical film for OLED panel(2011~2017).He is working open innovation, M&A, investment business by discovering excellent Japanese technology and startup companies in LG Japan Lab Inc.(2017~)

I received a B.S. degree at Yeungnam University in 2015. I obtained M.S. and Ph. D. degrees from the department of polymer chemistry at Kyoto University under the supervision of Prof. Hideki Matsuoka in 2018 and 2021, respectively. I am a post-doctoral researcher at the department of energy and hydrocarbon chemistry, Kyoto University. I have studied the creation of entirely ionic PIC micelles consisting of zwitterionic and ionic chains and their fundamental properties. Currently, I am conducting research on polymer electrolytes for all-solid-state batteries.

From 2019 to 2021, I have worked to get a doctorate in graduate school of engineering at Kyoto University under the supervision of Prof. Kohei Miyazaki and Prof. Takeshi Abe, with a government-funded scholarship (MEXT in Japan). After receiving my Ph.D at the same university, I promoted an assistant professor at Kyoto University.  I have been conducting researches on Lithium-ion batteries in non-aqueous and aqueous systems from master course and recently progressing studies on lithium nickel oxide materials for rechargeable batteries. In particular, I have skills and experience about various electrochemical in situ analysis including X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy for aqueous and non-aqueous battery systems.

저희 연구팀은 차세대 에너지원으로써 주목받고 있는 이차전지 및 연료전지와 관련된 연구를 진행하고 있으며, 특히 일본에서 가장 큰 규모의 이차전지 연구 사업인 Rising Project를 통해 리튬 이차전지와 관련된 연구 뿐만 아니라 차세대 이차전지시스템과 관련된 연구에 집중하고 있습니다.

Ji Ha Lee has received her PhD in chemistry from Gyeongsang National University (S. Korea) in Feb. 2015 (supervisor: Prof. Jong Hwa Jung). From Oct. 2015 to Mar 2020, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Kitakyushu (supervisor: Prof. Kazuo Sakurai)in Japan. Currently, she is an assistant professor at Hiroshima University in Japan. Her research interests include supramolecular gel, host-guest chemistry, and molecular recognition.

In our laboratory, we develop functional gels using self-assembly technology with high mechanical properties and evaluate the mechanical properties of gels. The functional gels with high mechanical properties are applied for DDS, sensors, and biomaterials.
